Why a dedicated reptile lamp?...
In nature, the sun provides a wealth of light at high intensity for
daylight loving reptiles, which can often be seen basking in the sun's
rays.
This is not just for warmth, but to assist in the synthesis of vitamin
D3 which promotes good health in these reptiles. The lamp is recommended
for most daylight reptiles, including iguanas, bearded dragons, skinks,
chameleons, lizards and tortoises.

Our exclusive bulb/Heat guards are available in 2 sizes. The standard bulb/Heater guards guard fits over ordinary bulbs, we recommend using bulbs of 60 watts or less.The larger heater/spot bulb guard can be used to cover spot bulbs using a suitable holder or conical heater type lamps and is supplied with reducing washers to fit various types. Both guards are made from fully galvanised wire mesh with aluminium end caps. The mesh and top cap can be easily removed to facilitate bulb replacement on both types. Although originally designed for use in reptile vivariums, these guards are also useful in aviaries or anywhere that animals may come into contact with bulbs or conical heaters.
